The next outing of the Mulkear Conservation Volunteers will take place this coming Saturday, 25 June 2011 at 10.00am. The meeting point will be Bilboa Bridge where there is adequate car parking available.

The outing will focus on riparian management at Bilboa Bridge on the Bilboa River and a site management plan for Himalayan Balsam. The fieldwork which will include manual removal of Himalayan Balsam, will take place on site and depending on numbers a second site may be utilised. The conservation outing will also include a discussion on habitat creation and the work of MulkearLIFE to investigate the impact of Himalayan Balsam on native biodiversity.

For those who wish to avail of transport from Limerick – please note a lift will be available for a small number of people from the Dock Road, Inland Fisheries Ireland office, to Bilboa – if you wish to avail of this lift please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
Please bring the following:
1. Appropriate clothing & foot ware (robust walking boots / wellington boots) & rain gear (jacket & trousers)
2. Water (if required) & and a flask of tea or coffee & snack (if required for field work)
