The next outing of the Mulkear Conservation Volunteers will take place on Saturday, 16th April 2011, from 10.00 to 13.00. The meeting point for the outing will be the Mill Bar car park, Annacotty, Limerick at 10.00am.
The outing will focus on riparian management at both Annacotty and Ballyclough weir and a site management plan for Himalayan Balsam at Annacotty weir.
The fieldwork will take place at the two sites on the Mulkear River. For those who wish to avail of transport – transport will be available from Limerick city centre (Dock Rd) to Annacotty for a limited number of people.
The conservation outing will also include a discussion on habitat creation, site signage and the work of MulkearLIFE to ease Sea Lamprey passage over the weirs this year.
In order to organise numbers please let us know by Thursday 14th April @ 17.00hrs if you are in a position to attend.
Please bring the following:
1. Appropriate clothing & foot ware (robust walking boots / wellington boots) & rain gear
2. Water (if required) & and a flask of tea or coffee & snack (if required for field work)
3. All other equipment will be provided
